The decontracting massage is a type of massage whose purpose is to dissolve muscle contractures.
Widely used in sports, it involves the manipulation of specific areas according to the area affected by the contracture, but it can be performed on all those people who need to relax their muscles while not practicing any sport.
The decontracting massage is in fact suitable for treating the main pains caused by stress, sports fatigue and incorrect working postures, or all those blocking conditions due to the accumulation of cold (air conditioning, winter cold shock, etc.) which freezes the tissues.
Depending on the type of pain, the type of tissue and in agreement with the client, it is possible and even recommended to combine the massage with a cupping and/or moxibustion treatment. Both are complementary techniques belonging to the vast organic corpus of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which, acting deep in the tissues through drainage or heat, offer long-term benefits especially in chronic conditions.
